Where to meet?

The Hague offers numerous options for hosting smaller or large-scale events. The city offers 2 convention centers, 42 theatres and cultural venues and over 30 hotel conference venues. Convention Center World Forum The Hague has the largest auditorium (2161 seats) of The Netherlands, a skilled team of professionals and has recently been renovated with a new 12,000 m² exhibition hall and other innovative developments.

Where to stay?

The city offers 61 hotels with a total of 4079 rooms. The selection of hotels is very diverse. From five star luxury chains, such as the Hilton and Starwood, to boutique hotels that make you feel at home the minute you step in, such as the Carlton Ambassador. The Hague offers hotels like the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus & Hotel des Indes that breathe history and ambiance, to hip new hotels like the Indigo The Hague that just opened in a former bank.

How to get there?

For many event organisers, easy access plays a decisive role when choosing their next event destination. We’re on the doorstep of one of Europe’s premier hub airports, Amsterdam Schiphol, and close to Rotterdam The Hague Airport. It’s only 35 minutes by car or 29 minutes by train from Schiphol Airport. With a daily influx of flights coming and going to destinations across six continents, getting to The Hague is easy. Whether you prefer to travel by air, by road, by train and even by sea, all of these are viable and comfortable options to get to The Hague.

Do you offer any special services/assistance for associations?

The Hague Convention Bureau offers a wide range of services that support events taking place in the city. We offer event support, financial support via the Conference Subvention Fund, contribute to marketing, promotion and PR efforts to support association events, assist in the bid-winning process, provide visibility to association events through various promotional outlets to dress the city in conference banners and signage, and thus help associations in making a lasting impact on the city and within their organisation.

Do you have any personal recommendations or insider tips for The Hague?

I love visiting the beaches of The Hague with their many beach bars and restaurants and of course The Pier, where you can see the city from above sea, in the Ferris Wheel. My favorite place to have dinner is Restaurant Waterproef, located near the Scheveningen harbor. It offers a great selection of fresh sea food! For shopping, I recommend the royal area around the Noordeinde Palace and the Denneweg. If you have some spare time, don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee and take a stroll in the area around the Binnenhof, where the parliament is located, to catch a glimpse of the prime minister arriving at work on his bike. I love how The Hague is a big city, but I can still be everywhere in a split second. It’s only a 15 minute ride by tram or bike from the city centre to the beach!
