Established under the T-XT5766 - Treaty Establishing the European Atomic Energy Community (Treaty of Rome) which set up H-XD0666 - European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom). Comprises a service of the E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), originally as part of Directorate-General XII, now a Directorate-General in its own right, under the Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. An institution of F-XF2147 - European Union (EU).
Aims
As the European Commission's science and knowledge service, support EU policies with independent evidence throughout the whole policy cycle.
