1922, Brussels (Belgium), as 'Auxiliary Insurance Committee' of A-XA1710 - International Co-operative Alliance (ICA). Name changed, 1972, Warsaw (Poland), to International Cooperative Insurance Federation (ICIF) -- Fédération internationale des coopératives d'assurances (FICA) -- Federación Internacional de Seguros Cooperativos (FISC) -- Internationale Genossenschaftliche Versicherungs-Föderation (IGVF). A specialized body of ICA as from 28th Congress of ICA, 1984, Hamburg (Germany FR). Present name adopted 1992, Tokyo (Japan).

Aims

Provide a global platform for cooperative and mutual insurers operating in domestic markets in different countries worldwide; foster cooperation among them.
