13-14 Oct 1988, Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), as Network of European Agricultural - Tropically and Subtropically Oriented - Universities Related with Agricultural Development -- Réseau des universités agronomiques européennes à orientation tropicale et subtropicale en relation avec le développement agricole. Also referred to as Réseau européen d'agronomie tropicale. Registered in accordance with Belgian law, Nov 1994. Ceased to exist 2009, when merged with U-XF3275 - European Consortium for Agricultural Research in the Tropics (ECART), to become F-XJ1712 - AGRINATURA.

Aims

Develop concerted actions in the fields of tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resources, forestry, food and human nutrition, veterinary medicine and fisheries between the European member institutions and partners in developing countries; promote the institutional reinforcement of universities, national research centres and partners in developing countries; better allocate the scientific and technical potential in this field among members; allow mobilization of funds to reach these objectives.
