History
Founded 1971, as West European Confederation of Maritime Technology Societies (WEMT). Present name adopted 2003.
Aims
Provide a forum for exchange of information and views by constituent societies on matters relating to the education and professional development of naval architects, marine engineers and others in the field or maritime technology; provide a link between members and the European Union in order for the constituent societies to be informed on the above; provide advice, when requested by any body of the European Union, on matters relating to the education and professional development of the above.
