History

The Council of Ministers of Health of Central America, COMISCA, has its genesis and raison d'être framed juridically and institutionally by the Declaration of San Salvador, the Protocol of Tegucigalpa and the Treaty of the Social Integration of Central America, TISCA, adopted by the Presidents of Central America at the X Summit held from July 15 to 17, 1991 in El Salvador, XI Summit held on December 12 and 13, 1991 in Honduras and the XVI Summit held on March 30, 1995 in San Salvador, respectively.

Support member states in their role of guaranteeing citizens' rights for access, universal coverage and quality of health services.
