Founded based on Joint Decision adopted by members of Supreme Councils of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Vilnius (Lithuania), 1 Dec 1990. Agreement on Parliamentary and Intergovernmental Cooperation of the Baltic States signed in Tallinn (Estonia), 13 June 1994, specifying responsibilities of the Baltic Assembly and those of the D-XD5517 - Baltic Council of Ministers (BCM), as well as the cooperation format between the BA and F-XF2714 - Baltic Council. Statutes most recently adopted 10 Nov 2017, Riga (Latvia).
Coordinate cooperation between the national parliaments of the Baltic states; discuss issues and various projects which are of mutual interest to the members of the national delegations and the member states; adopt decisions in compliance with the principles of equality, mutual benefit and unanimity; and develop cooperation with other regional, international, and inter-parliamentary organisations.

Sessions (annual). Baltic Assembly, composed of 12 to 16 parliamentarians appointed by parliament of each of the Baltic States. Presidium, composed of Chairperson of each national delegation and a deputy appointed by the parliament of the respective state.
