History
Jan 1981, Makkah, as a specialized committee of C-XC4129 - Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in accordance with the resolution adopted by 3rd F-XF4974 - Islamic Summit of Kings and Heads of States and Governments. Commenced operations, Jan 1984, following 4th Summit. Full title: Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference – Comité permanent pour la coopération économique et commerciale de l'Organisation de la conférence islamique.
Aims
Follow up implementation of resolutions adopted by OIC in the economic and commercial fields; examine means of strengthening cooperation among Islamic States; put forward programmes and proposals likely to improve the capabilities of Islamic States in those sectors.
