History

Took over activities of H-XH1266 - International Association of Conference Interpreters and Translators (IACIT), set up 1 Jan 1947. First institutional agreement with the UN signed in 1969, followed shortly by agreements with the EU and the Co-ordinated Sector.

Aims

Promote high standards of quality and ethics in the profession; represent the interests of practitioners working in institutions and on private market; keep members informed of the latest issues from interpreting technology to health and well-being to Artificial Intelligence.
