Established Apr 1967, Turku (Finland), to complement in natural science the work of H-XD3184 - Nordiska Samarbetsorganisationen för Teknisk-Vetenskaplig Forskning (NORDFORSK) in applied sciences. A cooperation body set up under T-XT7163 - Nordic Cultural Cooperation. Terms of reference revised Nov 1995, Jun 2007 and 2012. Previously also known as Nordisk Samarbeidsnemnd for Naturvitenskap.
Aims
Encourage cooperation among natural science research councils and scientists in the region, especially so as to address scientifically challenging programmes which may be outside the limits attainable by national organizations; exchange information on national science policy and planned projects; initiate negotiations on matters in which joint action should be taken.
