History
Established within the framework of U-XK1060 - Europe Against Cancer Programme (EC). Until 31 Mar 2004, supported by E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC) (SANCO). Subsequently supported by various EU projects until 2012. Co-funded by E-XE3549 - International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) until end 2012. Since Sep 2012, hosted by E-XE5547 - Joint Research Centre (JRC).
Aims
Improve the quality, comparability and availability of cancer incidence data; create a basis for monitoring cancer incidence and mortality in the European Union; provide regular information on the burden of cancer in Europe; promote use of cancer registry data for research and planning.
