History
Established when operations began, following signature of Articles of Agreement, 13 Dec 1960, Managua (Nicaragua), by governments of El Salvador, Guatemala (Guatemala), Honduras and Nicaragua. Costa Rica became a member 23 Sep 1963.

Aims
Implement economic integration and balanced economic growth of member countries; finance projects to further these aims and develop trade in the Central American Common Market; support Central American free trade objectives; improve, expand or substitute agricultural activities to establish a regional supply system.

Management Divisions (6), each headed by Manager: Business; Credit; Institutional Risk; Financial; Operations; Human Resources. Staff areas (3): Chief Economist; Institutional Relations; Legal Advisor.
