1978, Paris (France), by resolution 1/5.4/3 of the 20th session of UNESCO, when statutes were adopted. Revised statutes adopted 1990, under which responds directly to E-XE9702 - Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport.
Aims
Collect contributions for the promotion of physical education; reinforce assistance and intellectual, technical and financial cooperation at national, regional and international levels; support research into and formation of new physical activities and sports; use sport as means of international cooperation and education.
