12 Oct 1966, Cuernavaca (Mexico), as Inter-American Textile and Garment Workers' Federation -- Federación Interamericana de Trabajadores de la Industria Textil y del Vestuario (FITITV), by delegates from 13 participating countries. Name changed at 3rd Congress, Sep 1972, Bogota, to Inter-American Textile, Garment, and Leather Workers' Federation -- Federación Interamericana de Trabajadores de la Industria Textil, Vestuario y Cuero (FITITVC). At 8th Continental Congress, Oct 1990, Mexico City (Mexico), the name Inter-American Textile, Garment, Leather and Shoe Workers' Federation -- Federación Interamericana de Trabajadores de la Industria Textil, Vestuario, Cuero y Calzado (FITTVCC) was adopted, to emphasize the status as a regional organization of H-XB2629 - International Textile, Garment and Leather Workers' Federation (ITGLWF). Headquarters office located: 1966 - 1968 in Lima (Peru); 1968 - 1976 in Mexico City; 1976 - 1989 in Bogota. Since Aug 1989 the Secretariat is located in Venezuela. Last modification of Statutes at 11th Congress, 20-21 Nov 2002, Lima. Ceased to exist on dissolution of ITGLWF, Jun 2012, to become B-XJ6079 - IndustriALL Global Union (IndustriALL).
Aims
Coordinate trade union activities of textile, garment, leather and shoe workers in the American continent with the aim of improving living standards and working conditions and ensuring the democratic character and freedom of the trade union movement; promote educational and cultural programmes.

Governing Body comprising President, Executive Vice-President, 5 Vice-Presidents (Spanish-speaking North American countries; Central America and the Caribbean countries; Andean countries; Portuguese-speaking Southern countries; Spanish-speaking Southern countries), and General Secretary. Executive Committee of 21 Executive Directors.
